Best Buy’s TV sale includes up to $900 off Roku Pro Series sets

Looking for a new way to watch stuff? Best Buy is holding a big sale on TVs right now, and the deals are significant. Roku’s Pro Series TVs have been heavily discounted, with up to $900 in savings. To that end, the 75-inch Pro Series model is down to $800 and the regular price is $1,700.

We haven’t gotten our hands on a Pro Series TV to test out, but the specs are top-notch and reviews are generally positive. They include Mini-LED panels, with full array local dimming backlights, and 4K resolution. There’s a refresh rate of 120Hz, which is decent for gamers, and some notable features like HDR 10 and Dolby Vision.

These TVs ship with the company’s proprietary OS, so you’ll have instant access to all of the major streaming platforms. There are four HDMI ports and each unit comes with a remote that offers voice control via Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant.

If 75-inches is too big for your space, the 65-inch Roku Pro Series is on sale for $600. This is basically 50 percent off, as the regular price is $1,200.

Of course, Best Buy’s sale doesn’t begin and end with Roku. There are all kinds of TVs available at a discount. For instance, the Hisense 85-inch Class S7 has dropped down to $2,500, and it’s typically $4,000. This is the company’s answer to Samsung’s The Frame

A single-player Dungeons & Dragons game is in development

Stig Asmussen, the game industry veteran who directed God of War III and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Fallen Order, is developing a single-player action-adventure game set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons in partnership with publisher Wizards of the Coast.

This will be the first project for Asmussen’s studio Giant Skull since its founding in late 2023. In a press release sent to Engadget, the studio shared it is “dedicated to building gameplay-driven, story-immersed action-adventure games.” The new project will be built on the Unreal 5 engine and is currently in development for PC, with console details coming at a later date. No specific release dates, renderings or game content has been shared as of yet, making it unlikely this game will be out before 2026.

John Hight, president of Wizards of the Coast (the owners of the iconic tabletop RPG), said “Stig and the team at Giant Skull are exactly the type of exceptionally talented creators we want to work with and I’m so happy to be reuniting with him on this new project.” Stig Asmussen shared that the studio’s goal is to “craft a rich new Dungeons & Dragons universe filled with immersive storytelling, heroic combat and exhilarating traversal that players will fully embrace.”

This new project comes as Wizards of the Coast moves on from its deal with developer Larian Studios, the team behind the widely-acclaimed Baldur’s Gate 3. The Hasbro-owned publisher has a slew of games in the pipeline in partnership with various game studios in the United States and Canada. These include the sci-fi RPG Exodus, which is being developed by Archetype Entertainment, and Atomic Arcade’s Snake Eyes, which is based on the G.I. Joe.

Anker power banks are up to 41 percent off

There’s a big Anker sale on Amazon that covers several well-regarded power banks and charging accessories. This includes the 737 portable laptop charger, which is just $88. That’s the best deal of the bunch, as the price represents a 41 percent discount.

The 737 is a 24,000mAh charger that can juice up a laptop, but also works with other devices like smartphones, tablets and virtual reality headsets. The design is similar to our favorite premium power bank. This one, however, includes a trio of ports, making it a great option for multi-device charging.

Anker says the battery is large enough to charge an iPhone 16 Pro over four times before requiring a refill. Beefier devices, like the newest iPad Pro or MacBook Pro, will get just over a single charge. This is a portable device, with a nice form factor that makes it easy to pack. However, it is on the heavier side.

The Anker MagGo 621 magnetic charger is also on sale for $30, which is a discount of 25 percent. This one attaches to the back of a smartphone to provide more juice. The deal applies to multiple colorways.

The Anker MagGo 3 in 1 charging station is a nice little accessory for a nightstand. It’s on sale for $84, which is a discount of 24 percent. It’s not portable, as it plugs into the wall, but it accommodates an iPhone, AirPods and an Apple Watch all at the same time. I have one and it really does cut down on cable clutter.

Apple’s M3 iPad Air drops to a record-low price

A couple months have passed since Apple released the iPad Air (M3) and our position remains the same: It’s the best iPad on the market for just about everyone. Now, it’s also a much more accessible option.

A new Amazon sale sees Apple’s 11-inch iPad Air with an M3 chip drop to $499 from $599. The 17 percent discount is available on the 128GB model with Wi-Fi capabilities and no AppleCare+. We gave the new iPad Air (M3) an 89 in our review, thanks, in part, to that M3 chip. Its single- and multi-core scores came in 16 percent higher compared to its predecessor when tested with Geekbench.

The iPad Air M3 also has a much better screen and multitasking abilities this time around. Plus, it’s compatible with a much improved Magic Keyboard. The add-on is akin to the one you’d get with Apple’s iPad Pro M4 while also dropping by $30 from the previous model. But, it will still cost you $269 for the 11-inch model and $319 for the 13-inch one.

The Apple Watch Series 10 is back on sale for $100 off

Summer is almost here for those of us in the northern hemisphere, which means that you might be getting more active outdoors. One way to keep track of all your workouts en plein air is with the Apple Watch Series 10. The smartwatch is back on sale for $299, which is $100 off the regular price. It also matches a record low.

There are a few variants on sale for this price at Amazon, but they all have a 42mm case and are GPS models with no LTE connectivity. If you’d rather have the larger 46mm case, several Apple Watch Series 10 configurations with that are also $100 off at $329

Not only is the Apple Watch Series 10 a darn good fitness (and wellness) tracker, it’s our pick for the best smartwatch overall. Android wielders need not apply, unfortunately, since you need a paired iPhone to set up and use any Apple Watch. If you’re not looking for one for yourself, the Apple Watch Series 10 would also make for a great Father’s Day gift.

We gave this smartwatch a score of 90 in our review. It’s a fairly iterative update, so if you already have an Apple Watch Series 8 or 9 already, it might not be worth upgrading. At least in the US, the blood oxygen feature that was available in previous versions isn’t present in the Apple Watch Series 10 following a patent dispute. Some of the Apple Watch Series 10’s major features are found in other models too — the sleep apnea detection function is also available on the Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.

However, if you’re looking for your first Apple Watch or upgrading from a Series 7 or earlier, the Series 10 is probably the best way to go. It has a larger screen than its predecessors, so it’ll be easier to see notifications and such. The thinner frame looks rather fetching too.
